We keep a close eye on corporations and governments that put our freedom and privacy at risk. But we also help you take control. Being online safely and freely does not have to be hard.

We regularly give tips on what you can do to better protect your own online freedom. Sign up for our newsletter if you don’t want to miss any of our tips. Below a few examples of what you can do straight away.

Internet Freedom Toolbox
Together with a group of enthusiastic volunteers we developed the Internet Freedom Toolbox. This Toolbox answers all your questions about privacy, freedom and security online. You get practical advice and tips, but also direct links to applications and software that treat you data respectfully.

My Data Done Right
In 2018 an act took effect that makes it possible for citizens to get more grip on their data. Under this General Data Protection Regulation (in Dutch: “AVG”) you may always ask organizations (corporations, associations and so on) what they know about you. Bits of Freedom has developed a tool that makes it super easy to exercise your rights under the act. At www.mydatadoneright.eu you can ask organizations what data they have on you and what they use them for. Once you get an answer you have the right to have those data rectified, transferred to another service provider or completely erased.
